I am looking at the impressive Emulation list at Zophar's Emulation page:
http://www.zophar.net/jaguar.html

I'm hoping we can invite the authors here, get some input on the emulators and what they learned writing them.  We could certainly use the experience they offer.  So here is how the invitations are going so far:

Name     Description
Jaggy    This emulator is not worth downloading if you wish to run games. The author has abandoned it, but he released the source in case anybody wanted to build upon it.

(Invite sent.  The E-mail has not come back yet)

Jagulator    This was the very first official Atari Jaguar emulator to be attempted. It uses the Motorola 68000 command processor. This emulator requires a boot ROM to run.
(So far can't find hosting E-mail or website.)

Project Tempest    This is a work in progress that is very exciting. This emulator runs Raiden, Dino Dudes, and Cannon Fodder. I'm sure more will come along. A 2Ghz+ processor is required to run the games at full speed with sound.

(One E-mail address came back.. looking for others...)
Emulator programming by Ville Linde
CD emulation David Raingeard

T2K    A rather unknown emulator, which seems to be focused primarily on Tempest 2000, although reports show its on par with Project Tempest.
(No website, sending an E-mail to see if we can find the author... nope that failed...
Another page with the GP2 version of the T2K emulator...
http://www.zen14090.zen.co.uk/t2k/releases/
Original PC version... actually lists a Linux and Mac version here...
http://www.yakyak.org/viewtopic.php?t=41691
Ok... out of time on trying to hunt down any of these authors.
Tried the Mac version, played Tempest quite well on my G4 1 ghz machine.

Virtual Jaguar
This emulator is now in active development again! Make sure you have at least DX5 installed and your graphics card can support OGL 1.2.

None yet.  Please, if you find ways of contacting some of these people, feel free to go ahead and do so.   This morning I was trying to see if the guy who tried to port Elite 2 could come and let us know how he got as far as he did porting Elite from the ST.  That would be interesting to hear.  Smiley

Yeah, the Jagulator site is long time dead.

But maybe it can be reconstructed using its contents from web.archive?

Sounds like a good idea.  What were you able to pull from that when you tried?

You people don't know what the truth is! It's there, just under their bullshit, but you never look! That's what I hate most about this fucking city -- lies are news and the truth is obsolete!

Hey doctorclu,

I wish you well in trying to get hold of those guys but I wouldn't hold out much hope. Ask me how I know. Sad

I'd love nothing more than to have what happened with the atari800 project happen here: Everyone gets together and shares their code and expertise and shapes the emulator up in no time. But I seriously doubt it will happen.

I hope I'm proved wrong. Smiley

Hopefully.  But hey we've got one emu dev here, and that's pretty frickin' cool!   Grin

Yeh been great hearing from Shamus.  I will keep trying to contact the authors.  Half the fun is figuring out who made these emulators first off.  Sometimes the author is not documented.
