Does anyone have a link to a good Jaguar CD ripping guide? Or, if one does not exist, can someone please make one? I really want to know what settings should be used for ripping (or even for burning). Huh

Definitely a good question. I have been looking for an answer myself. I know it is possible and that it has been done before, but a Google search doesn't yield any reliable information.

Disc Juggler will duplicate most Jaguar games out right, and it is a free so long as you only write 700 mb worth.  Great program.  Just do a CD to CD duplication, or do a CD to image, and then burn from the image.

Now there are Jaguar games that do not copy with this method, and most have used Nero or CDClone at that point.   I can say out of all the discs of mine that I have tried to backup, I've had about 65% success rate with Disc Juggler, and I don't own Nero or CDClone.

So that is what I know on this.

Here's a little table of what program has successfully backed up what game.   Wink

Code:
Baldies                Diskjuggler
Battlemorph            Diskjuggler
Blue Lightning         Diskjuggler
BrainDead 13           Diskjuggler
Dragon's Lair          Diskjuggler
Highlander             Diskjuggler
Hover Strike: UL       Diskjuggler
Iron Soldier II        CloneCD
Myst                   Diskjuggler
Primal Rage            Diskjuggler
Space Ace              Diskjuggler
Vid Grid               Nero
World Tour Racing      CloneCD

I've ripped every Jaguar CD game I have with Alcohol 120% and they've all been just fine after they were burned.

You just have to be sure your CD burner supports multi-session audio, which you probably won't know unless you actually try to burn.

What datatype in Alcohol do you use?  I've had limited success with that program and making Jag backups.

It's for sale at Songbird Productions.
It's not a free game.

I'm pretty sure just Normal CD, though it's possible I used skip error checking.
Nothing complicated.

But then I have an old burner and it definitely can burn multi-session audio.

What version of Disc Juggler is that?

What I have is very basic.  You go into the the picture menu where it shows all the options, and I select the one, generally, where I have it copy from the disc to another disc.

I believe the settings it brings up at that point are fine.  Burn at fairly slow speeds.

Nice chart BTW and helpful.  Yeh never had much luck with Iron Soldier 2 for the longest time and I think I did try CDClone finally.

Well a recent game.  Let us know when you buy a copy and we'll help you somehow make a backup.

To the best of my knowledge, the following games listed in sergi's post are considered off-limits, as they are homebrew releases:

Frog Feast CD
Jaguar Source Code Collection CD
JagMIND: Bomb Squad CD (Starcat Developments)
Lost Treasures CD
Painter CD (Sinister Developments)
Painter SE CD
Ocean Depths CD (Starcat/Songbird)

I believe all of these should be available for purchase for quite reasonable prices from the publishers. If I am mistaken in this then please let me know.

In the meantime, I am still working on a list so as to help prevent any further confusion on this matter.
