Title: Jaguar blitter - any progress?
Post by: rcoltrane on October 28, 2009, 03:31:05 pm
Things are quiet around here so let's shake the bush to see if there's a snake or something else...  ::)

I'm curious to know if Virtual Jaguar is making progress with the blitter.

I suppose you're assuming Virtual Jaguar here.

Which I have to agree - Shamus, where's the new snapshot so I can produce a Windows binary? :)

Snapshot of how the emulator works, or a "snapshot" of the blitter itself?

A snapshot of the whole source that can be compiled

Well guys, I'm still in the middle of rearranging the guts of the main part of the emulator but the blitter itself it pretty stable, though still not 100% accurate yet. :P What would really help in that area is some kind of ORCAD simulator so that I can check my code against the ASIC nets; otherwise I'm going to have to write that code myself. :P ;D

The latest rev is 300; if you wind back maybe 3 or 4 revs you should find one stable enough to play with ('svn log -r 1:HEAD' is your friend here ;)). r296 should be OK, even r297-299 should be as well--as long as you don't mind some GUI breakage. ;D

Wow that's great to hear.  So where is the download page for those versions?

Like Shamus said, those are source code versions only and can be obtained via svn...
